Dell Technologies has introduced PowerStore Elite, a new generation of its storage platform designed for traditional applications, virtual machines, containers and private cloud environments.
According to Dell, the new platform delivers up to three times higher performance and network throughput. The system can accommodate up to 40 drives and provide an estimated effective capacity of up to 5.8 petabytes in a 3U chassis when the specified data-reduction ratio is applied.
Dell introduces a 6:1 data-reduction guarantee and allows the new systems to be integrated into clusters containing previous PowerStore generations. Data and workloads can be transferred without interrupting services.
Automation capabilities can significantly reduce manual administrative operations. Dell Cyber Detect analyzes data to identify signs associated with ransomware attacks and locate the most recent copy considered clean.
BTS PRO can design Dell PowerStore solutions together with backup, replication and disaster-recovery infrastructure. Each configuration is defined according to the required availability levels, RPO and RTO objectives and the expected rate of data growth.
